You know what sucks?

That I pay all this money for insurance every. single. paycheck. And it’s really not that great.

My wisdom tooth is growing in, moving around, whatever. And it hurts like a you know what. And thank you, dear insurance company, for being willing to cover about $1 of the entire removal process making me not able to actually afford such a procedure to get my damn teeth ripped out of my jaw. Which actually sounds good at this point.
And so, I will continue my daily regimen of taking a lot of milligrams of Advil and applying Ambesol, which doesn’t actually make the area in my mouth I want to be feeling-less numb. But still, I’ll continue.
Take that, insurance company. It will be more expensive when you have to pay to remove my liver, or whatever organ taking too much ibuprofen wrecks.

  1. Seriously? That’s really lame, your insurance should pay for that. Wisdom teeth removal isn’t an uncommon procedure.

  2. That SUCKS, and I couldn’t agree with you more. I’ve become one of those people that doesn’t go to the doctor because it’ll cost a million dollars – WITH insurance.

    I’m sorry you’re in pain :(

Did you run it thru your medical or dental insurance? If it’s impacted and you need to be put to sleep for the procedure, your medical insurance should pick up the tab.

Also, I highly advise against OD’ing on Advil (although I understand the need after waiting to get a root canal last year). I used to take it on an empty stomach ALL THE TIME and it never bothered me. I basically have permanent inflammation of the lining of my stomach now, and I get nauseous whenever I take Advil/Tylenol.

  4. I hate our insurance company. Both of them. They’ve caused me WAY too many headaches.

    I wish you luck.

Dave was supposed to get his painful wisdom teeth out March 20-something but had to cancel because we ran it by both our dental and our medical insurance companies and they both were like “oh, yeah, we don’t doooo that ….”

And we pay what feels like a CRAPLOAD for insurance.

We were soooo mad. Dave feels your pain.
